This involves various hellish exercises including marking, in which the candidates are encouraged to look at the weak points of Shakespeare and see where Michaelangelo could have done better. A tour of the staff room with its foam replica pupil, swearword wall and a machine for shouting practise is the culmination of a rollercoaster ride that would turn the education secretary's knuckles white.
